Wedding Themes That Make Sense: Pt. 1

Hi all!

I'm going to start a new series of posts to help all of you brides out there! We're going to look at wedding themes! I know, I know, you're all thinking themes?!?! NO WAY. Not my wedding. Not EVER. Let me let you in on a little secret...this was me too. There was no way anyone was going to make me have a themed wedding. Had you asked me my freshman year in college, I would have told you heck yes! Half of the wedding will be winter, half will be summer and there will be snowflakes, and sand, and.....the list goes on. I'd be ashamed to admit that such a thing were true, but the younger version of me kind of knew what was up.

Themes don't always have to mean Disney princesses, or Renaissance, or Pirates (unless that's your kind of thing). Themes can be a "feel" more than a blatant "matchy matchy" thing, and they can be more subtle too. Check out these themes, and I promise they will have you begging for more while swooning at the elegance of a coordinated look.

I hope you're ready! This post will be all about a rustic themed wedding. I've already talked about the burlap and lace trend in the Summer and Fall 2014 Wedding Trends post, but this look is still breathtakingly beautiful, and still on trend going into 2015! Check out some inspiration below!

Did you have a rustic theme at your wedding? I'd love to see pictures of your wedding! Any of you out there thinking this is the theme you're going for at your wedding? I'd love to hear all about it!

Until next time Blushing Brides,

How to Have An Epic Honeymoon....Without Making Your Wallet Cry

I had always seen my honeymoon as one of the best things about getting married. Maybe it was because I had more housewares than I could shake my fist at, or because I had already bought my own home, or I had lived with D for so long already that I didn't feel a traditional registry would fit my style. Along those same lines, I knew I wanted to make our honeymoon one of the most memorable experiences in our lives, and that meant going all out.

I have always wanted to travel the world, see new things, experience new cultures, meet new people, and expand my mind through culture and food. Prior to getting engaged, I had decided that I was finally going to set a goal to take the trip I had been dreaming of for so long.

All That Glitters

Today, it's all about glitter. If you can't decide on wedding colors, or themed colors aren't really your thing, we love the idea of a theme of glitter to bring sparkle and fun to your wedding. Even if you have colors picked out, accents of glitter can be so elegant and exquisite, and your pictures will turn out so pretty too!

As an added bonus to a eye-catching wedding, you can get gorgeous sparkly dresses to make even the pickiest bridesmaid happy!

Narrowing the Illusive Guest List

If you are anything like me, you want everyone you know to attend your wedding. What can I say? I have very close friend circles! This post will hopefully walk you through and help you narrow down that massive guest list you've pulled together-after all, your great aunt Gertrude's cat's boyfriend doesn't really need an invite.....
Don't let your guest list get so out of hand you spend well over your budget.
(Apologies for the Marvel goofiness-that's how I roll)

Summer and Fall 2014 Wedding Trends

Of course, trends run their course and then fade away, only to be revived some number of years later. Wedding trends are really no different with their cycles. I'm going to look at 5 of the wedding trends for Summer/Fall 2014, and what they have in store for us.
Let's hope this trend is one that never again makes it around to be a current trend...

Choosing a Registry

Zola, an all encompassing beautifully designed, group friendly wedding registry.

When we got engaged, D and I had been together for 9 years, and had lived together nearly as long. We had just bought our own house nearly a year prior, and we had more than enough clutter taking up precious space in our small starter home. That's what life is all about, right? :-)

Anyway, when I started thinking about registries, I dragged my feet. I knew we didn't need a lot from a traditional registry, and we knew we were going to be taking the epic honeymoon of our dreams-a trip for which we had been saving for years.
