Narrowing the Illusive Guest List

If you are anything like me, you want everyone you know to attend your wedding. What can I say? I have very close friend circles! This post will hopefully walk you through and help you narrow down that massive guest list you've pulled together-after all, your great aunt Gertrude's cat's boyfriend doesn't really need an invite.....
Don't let your guest list get so out of hand you spend well over your budget.
(Apologies for the Marvel goofiness-that's how I roll)

Finding the perfect wedding dress can be a bit overwhelming if you haven't been planning your wedding since you were a kid. I  was one of those brides.

Finding a Dress-Triangle Body Shape

Finding the perfect wedding dress can be a bit overwhelming if you haven't been planning your wedding since you were a kid. I  was one of those brides. Once I finally got engaged, I knew what I wanted my dress to look like, but then as it got closer to me trying dresses on, I started to question what style of dress might look good on my body type. That's when I started to think about the actual shape of my potential wedding dress....and that's how I found the perfect style for me. Now, it's my turn to help you find yours. :-)

This post is just for those with a triangle body type. It is part of a 5 part series showcasing the different body types and how to find a wedding dress that complements your body perfectly. Go with the one closest to your body shape and hopefully you'll have luck. :-)

There are 5 basic body types. Apple-more of a round shape; Pear-more of a rounded bottom and narrower top; Triangle/Wedge-more of a wider top, and a narrower bottom; Rectangle-more of a boxy shape, more athletic build (labeled "ruler" in the picture); and Hourglass-a wider top and matching bottom coming in near the midsection to a narrower point.

When you are a triangle body type, you have a broad chest and wider shoulders, and they appear larger in proportion to your narrow waist and hips. You look best when accentuating your lower body, while softening your upper body/shoulders.

Summer and Fall 2014 Wedding Trends

Of course, trends run their course and then fade away, only to be revived some number of years later. Wedding trends are really no different with their cycles. I'm going to look at 5 of the wedding trends for Summer/Fall 2014, and what they have in store for us.
Let's hope this trend is one that never again makes it around to be a current trend...

Choosing a Registry

Zola, an all encompassing beautifully designed, group friendly wedding registry.

When we got engaged, D and I had been together for 9 years, and had lived together nearly as long. We had just bought our own house nearly a year prior, and we had more than enough clutter taking up precious space in our small starter home. That's what life is all about, right? :-)

Anyway, when I started thinking about registries, I dragged my feet. I knew we didn't need a lot from a traditional registry, and we knew we were going to be taking the epic honeymoon of our dreams-a trip for which we had been saving for years.
